UNESCO and partners have been implementing the Our Rights, Our Lives Our Future (O3) programme in sub-Saharan Africa since 2018. Implemented across 33 countries, the O3 program stands as the largest comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) program in sub-Saharan Africa supporting delivery of good quality school-based CSE that empowers adolescents and young people and builds agency, while developing the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and competencies required for preventing HIV, reducing early and unintended pregnancies, and eliminating gender-based violence . The five year programme will conclude in June 2023 and a final evaluation is underway, which will inform the conception of the next phase of the programme (Phase 2), which is expected to run from July 2023 to July 2027.
Under the overall authority of the Director of the UNESCO multi-sectoral regional office for West Africa (Sahel), the supervision of the Senior Project Officer, Education for Health and Wellbeing, and in close collaboration with the Regional Health Education team in East and Southern Africa, the consultant will support the development of a results framework and monitoring tools for Phase 2 of the O3 Programme.
